FCI truck rams Maruti Alto at AD Nagar Drop Gate, car badly damaged

Date:

Agartala, 2nd November 2026 : A road accident involving a rice-laden Food Corporation of India (FCI) truck and a Maruti Alto created panic and disrupted traffic in the AD Nagar Drop Gate area of Agartala.

According to reports, the heavily loaded FCI truck rammed into the Maruti Alto while attempting to negotiate a turn. The impact left the car severely damaged. The truck reportedly veered towards the middle of the road, knocking down some trees before colliding with the car.

The Alto driver, identified as Sumit Pal, claimed that he was driving on his correct side of the road when the truck, allegedly moving at high speed, suddenly struck his vehicle. He said he had little opportunity to control the situation and narrowly escaped serious injury. A passenger was also reportedly inside the car at the time of the accident.

Pal further alleged that the truck driver lost control of the vehicle while manoeuvring through the congested stretch. The collision resulted in a traffic jam, causing inconvenience to commuters.

The incident has once again raised concerns over the movement of heavily loaded trucks through busy urban roads and the need for stricter monitoring of road safety.
