Agartala, 8th November 2026 : Two persons, including a motorcycle rider and his pillion passenger, sustained injuries after the door of a BSF vehicle reportedly swung open and struck their moving motorcycle on Lakshmi Narayanbari Road in Agartala.
According to the injured motorcyclist, the incident occurred when they were travelling along the road at a normal speed. A BSF vehicle was reportedly parked on the roadside when a woman inside suddenly opened its right-side door, leaving the motorcyclist with little time to react. The motorcycle collided with the door, throwing both occupants onto the road.
Both the rider and the pillion passenger sustained injuries. The rider complained of injuries to his arm and eye, while the elderly passenger reportedly suffered injuries to his knee and other parts of the body.
Speaking after the incident, the motorcyclist questioned the manner in which the vehicle’s door was opened, alleging that it was done without checking approaching traffic. He said they had been riding at a normal speed and could not avoid the suddenly opened door.
The injured rider also expressed dissatisfaction over the proposed treatment arrangements, claiming that although those present had offered medical assistance, he had concerns about the treatment being suggested for his eye.
The incident triggered questions over road safety and the responsibility of vehicle occupants to ensure that it is safe before opening doors on busy roads.
