CM’s appeal for blood donation receives overwhelming response

Agartala: May 07. Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Friday asserted that there is no greater gift than donating blood voluntarily and voluntary blood donation is one of the greatest gifts of human life. No gift of the world compares with it.

Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha said this while participating in the Blood Donation Camp organized by All India Bank Officers Confederation, Tripura Branch at Agartala Press Club on Sunday. Responding to the Chief Minister’s clarion call, people from various parts are organizing blood donation camps in a festive mood.

Various clubs, social organizations, voluntary organizations or employees are coming forward to donate blood voluntarily. This has largely eliminated the shortage of blood in the blood banks of the state. In this situation, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the blood donation camp organized at Agartala Press Club under the initiative of All India Bank Officers Confederation, Tripura branch on Sunday.

  In his inaugural address, the Chief Minister elaborated on the importance of blood donation. He said, if the body does not have blood circulation, the organs of the body would stop working. “One person’s blood helps to save lives of four sick people. The blood crisis that occurred in the entire state after the Durga Puja has now been largely fulfilled”, said Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister urged more people to come forward in noble programs like blood donation. He also advised the bank employees to provide proper service to the bank customers.

On this day, Sanjay Dutta, secretary of the organizing organization, gave a welcome speech at the blood donation camp.On this day, the Chief Minister participated in another voluntary blood donation program. This voluntary blood donation camp was organized on the occasion of the 15th annual foundation day of Ramakrishna Seva Samiti in MB Tilla area of Arundhatinagar in the capital. And this camp was inaugurated by Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder along with officials of the organizing organization were present on the occasion.

While delivering his speech, the Chief Minister discussed in detail why voluntary blood donation is necessary at present. The presence of voluntary blood donors was noticeable in both camps.
