Women’s force embarks anti-drug campaign at East Gokulnagar

Agartala, May 15, 2023: After losing faith in the police, a group of women finally launched an anti-narcotics campaign. There was tension in Pukuriabari area of East Gokulnagar in Bishalgarh on Monday morning. A large TSR force along with Bishalgarh police station staff rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control.

The local residents complained that country-made liquor, brown sugar and ‘yaba’ tablets are being sold continuously in some houses in Pukuriabari area of East Gokulnagar. Every night there is a gambling party with alcohol, brown sugar in that area. From young to old, everyone comes home drinking and making trouble. As a result, a families in the area are not able to pass their livelihood in a good condition.

They further complained that the administration is not taking any initiative even though it has been reported to the police station several times.

Finally, losing faith in the police, women force went on a raid with sticks on their hands on Monday morning. But the sellers of drugs were able to escape from the house after hearing the raid. Women force recovered country-made liquor by raiding their house.

Meanwhile, on receiving the news, a large TSR force along with Bishalgarh police station staff rushed to the spot and controlled the tensed situation.
