Agartala: June 16. Tripura Police on Thursday late night arrested 11 Bangladeshi and Rohingya nationals from the Kadamtala area under the Dharmanagar sub-division when they were en route to Karimganja in Assam to board in train for Delhi.
Police said that the beat patrolling police personnel have received information that some people are suspiciously traveling in three cars.
“The beat patrolling police personnel have informed the matter to officials of Kadamtala Police station. Soon after they received the information, police personnel rushed to the inter-state check post and intercepted all the three vehicles. During preliminary interrogation we have found that a group of Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals with the help of three Indian tout crossed the border to reach in Delhi. They rented the car to move to Karimganja. We have detained seven Bangladeshi and 4 Rohingya and two infants”, said the SDPO.
He said that they entered in India territory from Kailashahar area under Unakoti District with the help of the three Indian Touts. We didn’t find any valid documents from them.
Seven Bangladeshis were identified as Rahman Ali (30), Janantara (19), Khaleda Begum (19) along with a minor girl who are residents of Chittagong area of Bangladesh while other three are Karima Begum (28), Abbas Howlader (35) and Al Hafiz (18) of Barisal district of Bangladesh. The arrested Rohingyas identified as Mohammad Alam Sa (20), Kumair Bibi (18), Farida Begum (18) and Shafela Begum (18).
While the three India tout who are drivers by profession are identified as Abdul Fatta Khan, Chayad Ali and Matshir Ali who are residents of Bhagwan Nagar of Unakoti district of Tripura.
