Agartala: June 22 – The vibrant city of Agartala is abuzz with excitement as preparations for the annual Kharchi Puja are in full swing.
As is the tradition, this auspicious event will commence on June 26 at the Khayerpur fourteenth deity temple, marking the beginning of a week-long celebration.
The entire vicinity is adorned with captivating new colors, creating a mesmerizing ambience for the Kharchi Puja. The organizers have thoughtfully arranged a fair around the temple, adding to the festive spirit. The fourteenth deity temple is currently undergoing meticulous decoration, and both government and private stalls are being erected concurrently. The final stage of preparations is currently underway, ensuring a remarkable experience for all attendees.
Demonstrating their commitment to safety, the fire brigade personnel have diligently cleaned the fourteenth deity temple, using water to ensure its pristine condition. Additionally, the temple is being repainted, enhancing its grandeur and charm.
To oversee the arrangements, Ratan Chakraborty, MLA of the area, conducted a thorough inspection of all the preparations for the Kharchi Puja and fair. Following his review, he confirmed that the much-anticipated Kharchi Puja and fair will commence on June 26, bringing joy and merriment to the community.
On June 25, a bathing ceremony for the fourteenth deity will be held, further adding to the significance of the occasion. The final stage of preparations for the Kharchi Mela and Puja is currently in progress, with designated spaces already allocated for government stalls. Private stalls are also being constructed and will be assigned through a transparent lottery system, ensuring fairness and equal opportunities for all.
