Sreeshankar, Anees in men’s long jump final

India’s Murali Sreeshankar and Mohammad Anees Yahiya entered men’s long jump final at the Commonwealth Games 2022 here on Tuesday.

Sreeshankar was the only athlete in the qualifying round who beat the direct qualification mark of 8m. He registered the best effort of 8.05 to move to the final.

Anees qualified with his 7.68m jump that came in his second attempt. He finished eighth in the qualification round.

The final is scheduled for August 4, Thursday.
