Sushanta celebrates ‘Vanmahotsav 2023’ with tree planting at IDITAR institute, Majlishpur

Agartala, July 21, 2023: In a bid to emphasize the significance of environmental conservation, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, graced the occasion of ‘Vanmahotsav 2023’ at the IDITAR (Institute of Driving Training and Research) premises under the purview of the Transport Department in Majlishpur assembly constituency.

Chowdhury, during his speech at the event, highlighted the importance of nature and its impact on our lives. He urged everyone to take responsibility for safeguarding nature to ensure a sustainable future.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister stressed the need for collective efforts to protect the environment, stating that our existence is intricately connected to the well-being of nature. He acknowledged the growing concerns of environmental issues, such as population growth, environmental pollution, global warming, and the diminishing forest cover, which poses a threat to our ecosystem.

The ‘Vanmahotsav 2023’ witnessed the plantation of a large number of trees in the IDITAR Institute’s premises, symbolizing the commitment of the participants towards environmental conservation. In addition to the tree planting, Choudhury also inspected various facilities of the institute and interacted with the trainees present at the venue.

Among the esteemed guests present at today’s event were Subrata Choudhury, Commissioner of the Transport department, Pritam Debnath, Vice-Chairperson of the Jirania Panchayat, Samit Kumar Das, Jirania BDO, Satyanarayan Sarkar, Executive Engineer of the Jirania Division at the Public Works Department, and distinguished social worker Gouranga Bhowmik, along with other high-ranking officials from the Transport department.
