Agartala, August 08: The central committee of the Tribal Students Union (TSU) gave a deputation to the Director of the Higher Education Department on Tuesday. The delegation highlighted the challenges faced by students who were unable to secure admissions to colleges in the current academic year. Due to the absence of colleges at Jampuijala and Karbook, these students are compelled to undergo a yearly scramble for college admissions.
The main focus of the deputation was to advocate for the establishment of Jampuijala and Karbook Sub-Divisional Colleges, aiming to alleviate the difficulties faced by prospective students in the region. During the meeting, the TSU central committee general secretary, Sujit Tripura, conveyed four crucial demands to the Director of the Higher Education department.
While the specifics of the demands were not detailed in the immediate report, the TSU’s efforts to improve educational opportunities for tribal students in the area have garnered attention and support from various stakeholders.
As the issue gains momentum, local authorities and educational institutions are urged to address the concerns raised by the TSU and work towards finding sustainable solutions to ensure accessible and quality education for all students in the region. Further developments regarding the demands and actions taken by the higher education department are eagerly anticipated by the concerned community members and students alike.
