President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to name and launch the GRSE (Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineering Ltd) indigenously built the 3rd Warship ( a stealth frigate for the Indian Navy) here on August 17, an official said on Wednesday.
The launching ceremony of the warship will be held at the GRSE’s
shipbuilding facility on the banks of River Hooghly in the city.
The state-of-the-art ship will be fitted with the latest gadgets
and undergo extensive trials before being handed over
to the Indian Navy for commissioning into service.
The P17A warships are guided missile frigates, each of which is
149 mt long, with displacement of approximately 6,670 ton
and a speed of 28 knots.
