Agartala, 26th August 2023 : In a harrowing incident, a demonstration train destined for Sabroom in the southern district of Tripura had a narrow escape from a potentially disastrous accident on Saturday. The heart-pounding event unfolded at approximately 11 am, sending shockwaves through both the passengers and railway authorities.

The train commenced its journey from Agartala Railway Station at 10:50 AM, en route to Sabroom. However, just moments after departing from Sekerkot railway station, a bag of stones appeared on the tracks, leading to an alarming collision with the train’s engine. The sudden impact rattled both the passengers and the crew, sparking a brief wave of panic among them.

Remarkably, the quick reflexes of the passengers and the vigilant locomotive pilot played a crucial role in preventing any injuries. The train was brought to a halt, positioned astride the tracks, leaving everyone on board visibly shaken. With prompt action, passengers, along with the alert locomotive pilot, disembarked from the train to assess the situation. Investigations revealed that a trolley loaded with stones had been obstructing the railway path, ultimately causing the unfortunate collision.

Fortunately, no passengers suffered harm during this unsettling encounter. Nonetheless, the train itself bore evident signs of damage due to the collision. The authorities from the Railway Board, headquartered in Agartala, acted swiftly in response to the incident, taking appropriate measures to address the situation.
