Ex-MLA Imran Masood expelled from BSP

Date:

Prominent leader of western Uttar Pradesh and former MLA Imran Masood was expelled from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Tuesday on charges of indiscipline and indulging in anti-party activities.

A letter regarding expulsion of Imran Masood from the party has been issued by BSP’s district president Janeshwar Prasad.

The district president has stated that Masood was warned against indulging into indiscipline and anti-party activities several times, but he failed to mend his ways.Prasad said that when Masood was inducted into the party he was clearly told that he would be given a ticket to contest Lok Sabha election from Saharanpur keeping in view his activities and style of working towards BSP.The district president said that during local body polls Masood created pressure to give the ticket for the post of mayor to one of his family members.

“At that time the ticket was given on the condition that if his candidate loses then he will not be given a ticket for Lok Sabha polls. Incidentally, his candidate lost,” he said.

It may be noted that Masood quit Congress and joined Samajwadi Party (SP) in January 2022. Later in September he quit SP and joined BSP after which he was appointed as the coordinator of western UP.
