India’s maiden Sun mission progressing well, Launch Rehearsal completed, to take off on Saturday

 The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)

on Wednesday said the preparation for the maiden mission to explore

the Sun, scheduled on September two from the spaceport of Sriharikota,

was progressing and the launch rehearsal was completed.

The Aditya-L1 satellite, which will be the first space based Indian

Observatory to study the Sun, will be launched by ISRO’s workhorse

launch vehicle PSLV-C57 at 1150 hrs on Saturday.

It said the Vehicle Internal checks were also completed.

In an post on PSLV-C57/Aditya-L1 Mission, ISRO said the preparations

for the launch are progressing.

The Launch Rehearsal – Vehicle Internal Checks are completed.

This will be the second major inter-planetary exploration by India

in a short pan of ten days, after the Lander Module, onboard the

Chandryaan-3 successfully soft landed on the dark side of the Moon

on August 23 and the Rover, deployed from it on the Lunar surface,

started conducting in-situ chemical analysis of the region and has

been sending images of the Moon.
