Agartala, 7th November 2023:  In a significant development, the Railway Board has given its nod for the extension of the popular Kanchenjunga Express, further enhancing long-distance rail services in Tripura. This extension will now connect Sabroom, marking a pivotal milestone for the region.

Currently, the Kanchenjunga Express operates a four-day-a-week service between Agartala and Sealdah in both directions. The approved extension will now include Sabroom in its route. This expansion means that the train departing from Sabroom will make a commercial stop at Udaipur en route to Agartala, effectively covering both destinations.

Sabyasachi Dey, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Eastern Frontier Railway, announced that the extended service of Kanchenjunga Express from Sabroom is set to commence in the near future. According to Rail News, the train will depart from Sabroom for Sealdah every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday at 6:20 AM. It is scheduled to arrive at Udaipur station at 7:12 AM, departing for the next destination at 7:14 AM. Departing from Agartala at the previously scheduled time of 8:15 AM, the train will continue its journey to Sealdah, with commercial stops at all remaining stations along the route remaining unchanged.

This development is poised to bring a new level of connectivity and convenience for residents and travelers in the region. The extension of the Kanchenjunga Express to Sabroom marks a pivotal moment in Tripura’s railway network, providing easier access to a wider range of destinations for passengers.
