TMC MP Nusrat Jahan appears before ED

Date:

Actor-turned Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha member Nusrat Jahan on Tuesday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation officials at its CGO Complex office, Salt Lake, responding to a summon by the central agency probing the money trails of Seven Senses Infrastructure Pvt Ltd flats scam in the New Town of the city.

The Basirhat MP arrived at the CGO office before the scheduled time at 11 AM as she had assured full cooperation with the probe agency into the investigation.

Thirty-three year-old MP was seen entering the ED office with a file,

possibly the documents, as the probe officials had instructed her to produce relevant documents of her innocence in the flat scam, which is estimated to be around Rs 20 crore.

The ED registered a case against Jahan, a Tollywood Bengali actor,

related to her alleged association as one of the directors with a

suspected shady financial entity which allegedly duped many senior citizens by promising them residential flats at New Town.

However, another accused Rakesh Singh, also a director of the company, did not appear as per ED summons on Monday, sources said.

A complaint was filed by a group of citizens accusing the real estate company of cheating them by promising flats at New Town.

Jahan, former director of the company, resigned in 2017 after paying her debt to the company, she had claimed during a media conference early this month.
