No confidence motion in Himachal assembly

 The Congress on Thursday presented a no-confidence motion against the Jai Ram Thakur government on the second day of the monsoon session.

Speaker Vipin Singh Parmar allowed the notice of no-confidence motion on Wednesday.

Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri, who presented the motion, said in the last four years the state government had failed on all fronts. He said inflation was rising, recruitment was being done through back door channels and question papers have been leaked.

He accused the state government of misusing government funds for organising the political rallies in the state. He said that each and every commodity including milk were being levied heavy GST.

He said 1,574 rapes have been registered under this government and 354 women were murdered in the state. A woman town planner was murdered in broad daylight when she was implementing a court order at a tourist resort in Solan district.

The Congress leader accused the Chief Minister of replacing five Chief Secretaries in four years.
