Agartala, November 21: Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury attended the ‘Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ and ‘Prati Ghore Sushasan 2.0’ event at Makumaikami High School area of Harijoy Chowdhury Para in Majlishpur assembly constituency on Tuesday.
He lit the sacred lamp to inaugurate the event, which aims to enable the common people to benefit from various developmental schemes of the central and state governments in every Gram Panchayat and ADC Village of the state.
The minister also felicitated Mithali Debnath, who won a silver medal in the women’s 50-54 years group 800m race at the 22nd Masters Athletics Championship held at New Clark City, Capas, Philippines on November 8, 2023.
She also represented India in the 1500m race in the same category. The minister praised her for bringing laurels to the state and the country and encouraged her to continue her passion for athletics.
The minister also distributed various welfare items and certificates to the beneficiaries of different schemes under the ‘Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ and ‘Prati Ghore Sushasan 2.0’. He urged the people to avail the benefits of the schemes and contribute to the development of the state and the nation.
