Agartala, December 13: Employees of a company stand accused of orchestrating a recruitment scam under the guise of outsourcing for government offices. The alleged fraudsters were apprehended by the police at a private hotel in the Math Choumuhani area of the capital city on Wednesday.

The controversy surrounds an organization identified as East Sainik Security Service, which purportedly issued notifications for the recruitment of unemployed youth as security guards. However, when aspiring candidates arrived to submit their applications at the provided address, they were informed of a different position—Data Entry in the Rural Development Department.

According to reports, after the interview on Tuesday, job seekers were instructed to return on Wednesday, only to be confined to a hotel room. Subsequently, the accused demanded sums ranging from Rs 10,000 to 15,000 from each individual. The suspicious activities came to light when the victims reported the incident to the police, prompting an investigation.

Upon initial police inquiries, significant inconsistencies were detected in the statements of the accused. Further investigations involved contacting the Eastern Sainik Security Service Organization in Uttar Pradesh, revealing that no instructions had been issued to recruit individuals in the North Eastern region.

Consequently, the police arrested three individuals associated with the alleged scam and brought them to the police station for questioning. In response, the accused denied soliciting money from the job-seeking youth, asserting that they were being recruited for Aadhaar Card Data Enrollment Operator positions. They dismissed the allegations as completely baseless, leaving the final verdict pending until the conclusion of the ongoing police investigation.
