Agartala: August 19. One head constable of BSF posted in Simnapur border outpost died after he sustained four bullet injuries when banned NLFT opened fired on BSF jawans.
The incident took place at around 8.30 AM in the morning in the Simnapur border outpost which falls under the Anandabazar police station of North Tripura district.
“the BSF jawans were patrolling and all of a sudden the NLFT extremists opened fired on them. The BSF jawans also retaliated. But however one BSF head constable received four bullet injuries”, an official said.
The BSF jawans was identified as Grijesh Kumar who was a Head constable of 145 battalion of BSF sustained four bullet injuries.
“We have airlifted the injured jawan to Agartala for treatment. However he succumbed on his injuries. We have sent it to GB Pant hospital in Agartala for post mortem”, he said.Soon after the incident the senior Police and BSF officials rushed to the spot of the occurrence.
