Traders of Tripura celebrate Mahotsav with social service

Agartala, 6th January 2024:  As part of the 53rd Mahotsav of Sri Sri Gouranga Mahaprabhu, the traders of different markets of Tripura have shown their commitment to social service by distributing clothes among the elderly residents of Apnaghar old age home in Barjala on Saturday.

The Mahotsav, which is an annual festival of the followers of the Vaishnava sect, was attended by the BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee at Math Chowmuhani Bazar under Banmalipur assembly constituency.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder, who praised the traders for their noble gesture.

Speaking on the occasion, Majumder said that the traders of Tripura are not only earning as professional traders, but are also constantly engaging themselves in various social service activities. He said that the traders have been supporting the needy and the underprivileged sections of the society, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. He also urged the people to follow the teachings of Sri Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu, who preached love, peace, and harmony.
