The Telangana cabinet will convene under the chairmanship of A. Revanth Reddy at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Secretariat at 1200 hours on Tuesday.
Official sources indicate that the cabinet is likely to discuss a crucial decision regarding the fulfillment of the Congress party’s pre-election promise of providing Rs 2,500 in financial assistance to women.
Additionally, the meeting will address matters related to the issuance of new ration cards. Reviving interest-free loans to women and providing insurance to self-help groups (SHG) are also expected to be discussed in the meeting.
There is speculation that the Cabinet may request the Governor to reconsider earlier recommendations concerning the appointment of Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) in the Governor’s quota.
