Agartala, 5th April 2024: In a strategic move ahead of the upcoming two-phase state elections scheduled for April 19 and 26, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is intensifying its focus on digital campaigning. The party’s IT cell is playing a pivotal role in leveraging social media platforms to connect with the electorate.
A significant event, the State Level IT Cell, Social Media, and Influencer Meet, was convened on Friday afternoon at the Nazrul Kalakshetra in Agartala. The meeting saw the presence of notable political figures including Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharya, and the party’s nominee for the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, who graced the event as chief guests.
Addressing the media, the IT cell in-charge underscored the importance of the day’s proceedings, which were carefully planned in light of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. The gathering brought together the District Convenor, Mandal Convenor, and State Convenor, highlighting the event’s significance as a prelude to what he termed the ‘festival of democracy.’ The Sankhnad ceremony, a traditional call to action and unity, marked a symbolic commencement of the party’s campaign efforts.
