INDIA bloc will form government, PM will be elected unanimously: Kharge

Date:

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday, while expressing confidence that on June 4, people will give mandate to INDI alliance, said that the leaders of the coalition parties will sit together and unanimously choose the Prime Minister.

Addressing a press conference at the AICC headquarters here, Kharge while replying to questions said, “We are confident that on June 4, the people will give an alternate mandate and the INDI alliance will form a nationalist and inclusive government that will work for the welfare of the people”.

Replying to a question regarding the agenda of the meeting of INDIA bloc leaders to be held on June 1, the Rajya Sabha MP said that this meeting would solely be on the election results.

On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s record interviews to media, Kharge said that if the BJP was winning why were they running from one media to another giving interviews. This only showed that Modi was losing this election.

Meanwhile, Congress general secretary K C Venugopal said that the June 1 meeting would only be for the counting preparations. The party has directed its state units to alert about the 17 C form.

“We will have a review on that day about the 17 C form collections, the counting day preparation and nothing else will be discussed. That will be an informal meeting. We have informed leaders of major political parties and most of them are coming,” Venugopal said.
