Agartala,14th June 2024 :: “Donating blood means donating life. There is no substitute for blood donation,” asserted Food Minister Sushanta Chowdhury at a grand mega blood donation camp organized by the Radhanagar Motorstand Development Society at Radhanagar on Friday.
The event coincides with World Blood Donor Day, an occasion declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2005 and now marking its 20th year. The camp was organized by the Radhanagar Motor Stand Development Society to honor the day.
The camp was attended by TRTC Chairman Balai Goswami, Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Manik Lal Das and other dignitaries.
In his address, Minister Chowdhury emphasized the irreplaceable value of blood and the critical need for donations. “The purpose of this day is to encourage the general public to donate blood, including those who are saving millions of lives by donating blood voluntarily and free of charge,” he stated. He also urged people to come forward and donate blood voluntarily, highlighting the lifesaving impact of such contributions.
