A team of ministers and BJP leaders will visit the area, and the local administration has been instructed to provide assistance to the victims.

The protest erupted late Friday night after the death of a youth, Parameswar Reang, who was allegedly assaulted by a group of individuals at a fair. The police have arrested four people in connection with his death. The ensuing protest led to the destruction of many shops and houses, which were set on fire.

Bhattacharya expressed his sorrow over the incident, stating, “This is indeed a tragic event and should not have happened.” He mentioned that he has been in contact with local leaders and that Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha is also keeping a close watch on the situation. Additional forces have been deployed to maintain order.
