Agartala, 13th July 2024:   In a strategic move ahead of the upcoming three-tier panchayat elections, Pradesh Congress President Asish Kumar Saha on Saturday announced the adoption of the ‘Ekala Chalo’ policy. In an exclusive interview, Saha emphasized that the party is gearing up for the elections despite facing obstacles.

“Congress candidates are being obstructed from submitting their nomination papers at various locations,” he revealed, adding that the issue has been escalated to the Director General of State Police. Saha criticized the State Election Commission for its passive stance on the matter.

Despite being part of the INDI alliance, the Pradesh Congress is prioritizing the perspectives of grassroots workers in its electoral strategy. “We are committed to ensuring that the voices of local party members are at the forefront of our campaign in the state panchayat elections,” he concluded.
