149 battalion of CPRF holds tree plantation ceremony at Gandacherra GDC

Agartala, 27th July 2024:   Emphasizing the belief that “a tree is a soul,” a tree planting event was held at Gandacherra Government Degree College on Saturday, marking the 86th foundation day of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The ceremony began at 7 am, was led by 149th battalion of CRPF and involved the planting of various saplings around the college’s premises.

The event was attended by Inspector Mohan Lal, Co-Operative Officer of the Army Eco Company and Professor Nipan Chakma from Gandacherra Government Degree College among others.

During the ceremony, Inspector Lal highlighted that the CRPF was founded on July 27, 1939, and this date has been commemorated annually as Foundation Day. He also noted that their visit coincides with the upcoming panchayat elections, which has brought them to the state.

The tree planting initiative was supported by the Principal of Gandacherra Government Degree College to honor the CRPF’s foundation day.
