Agartala, 3rd August 2024: BJP state President Rajib Bhattacharya announced that the party will take strict action against those maligning its reputation. District Presidents have been instructed to compile detailed reports on any such allegations. Once these reports are reviewed, the party in consultation with state in-charge Rajdeep Roy, the core committee and the office bearer committee will impose appropriate punishments on those found culpable.
In a statement made following an organizational meeting at Rabindranagar Community Hall in Kanthalia block, Sonamura subdivision on Saturday, Bhattacharya also highlighted the party’s electoral successes. He revealed that BJP candidates won unopposed in approximately 71 percent of the state’s 605 gram panchayats, with expectations of securing the remaining seats in upcoming elections. These elections are scheduled for August 8, prompting a pre-election organizational meeting with activists and supporters.
Bhattacharya criticized the opposition for attempting to sway voters through false propaganda, asserting that such efforts would be futile. He emphasized that only the Modi government can ensure comprehensive development for the country. The meeting also saw the participation of Pradesh Sampadika Moushumi Das, District President Debabrata Bhattacharya, MLA Bindu Debnath, and various BJP nominees from Zilla Mandals and three-tier Panchayats across different blocks.
