Agartala, September 08, 2022: To mark the September 08, 2021 as ‘Black Day’, DYFI state committee and TYF central committee on Thursday published their mouthpiece named ‘Yuva Sangram’ which was released by advocate Rajarshree Purakayastha in front of Police Headquarters here. The releasing ceremony of the mouthpiece was attended by DYFI state secretary Nabarun Deb, DYFI state president Palash Bhowmik, TYF central committee president Kaushik Roy Debbarma, members Suman Deb and other leaders and workers.

DYFI and TYF coined September 08, 2021 as ‘Black Day’ because on this day, the ruling BJP workers and leaders led by its state vice-president Rajib Bhattacharjee (present BJP state president) along with general secretaries Tinku Roy and Papia Datta, and BJYM state president Nabadal Banik staged a violent procession by setting fire on two party office of CPIM and two newspapers establishments along with burning of a dozen of vehicles including motorcycles in the heart of Agartala city, said DYFI state secretary Deb while speaking to media persons in front of Police Headquarters here on Thursday.

He said “During this course of barbaric activities of reaping the benefits of ruling party, state police administration were supporting them without restricting them in carrying out these violent activities on the heart of the capital city. The police administration had played a significant role to protect the ruling party leaders and miscreants as their bodyguards in the entire incident. They have been a playing a partisan role and had become the puppets of the ruling party. Not only this, police have been protecting the anti-social elements for the last four and half years.”

Citing the role of state police administration in the past four and half years during BJP-led government’s rule, Deb said “After these incidents, people of Tripura witnessed that thieves have stolen over 100s of files from the Police Headquarters, which is meant to be the highest secured zone in the state. Once, this police fought against the insurgents, created a peaceful state and honoured with Rastrapati Colours award. Earlier, police used to nab thieves and now people are booking thieves. Earlier, police used to guard various sensitive hamlets, now people are guarding their own neighbourhood from the hands of anti-social elements.”
