Agartala, 7th August 2024: Amid heightened tensions in Bangladesh, Daljit Singh Chawdhary, the Director General of Border Security Force (BSF), arrived in Tripura today to assess the security and operational readiness of the BSF along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Tripura shares an 856-kilometer international border with Bangladesh. The DG BSF, accompanied by Additional Director General Ravi Gandhi, visited the Frontier Headquarters BSF in Salbagan, Agartala.
Upon arrival at Agartala Airport, Chawdhary was welcomed by Patel Piyush Purusottam Das, IG BSF Tripura Frontier. He received a detailed operational briefing from the IG Tripura Frontier and subsequently led a meeting with senior BSF officers. The discussion focused on the current law and order situation in Bangladesh and its impact on border security.
During his visit, Chawdhary praised the BSF Tripura’s diligent efforts in securing the border and effectively curbing infiltration and cross-border crimes. He also met with DG Tripura Police Amitabh Ranjan and ADG Law and Order Anurag Dhankar to discuss various state-related security issues.
