Food Minister Reviews Essential Commodities Supply Amid Floods, chairs high level meeting

Agartala, 23rd August 2024:  Amidst the flood situation in Tripura, the Food and Civil Supplies Department has taken advance measures to ensure that the supply of petroleum products, LPG cylinders along with the price of daily necessities is normal.

On this, the food and civil supplies department minister Sushanta Chowdhury chaired a review meting.

He said that due to the dire flood situation prevailing in the state, the food department has taken advance measures to ensure that the supply of petroleum products, LPG cylinders along with the price of daily necessities is normal.

“The State Food Department has tried to prevent the price of essential commodities in the market from going up in any way due to flood and to prevent black market of essential commodities”, he said.

Keeping these issues in front, today in the conference hall of Food Minister chaired the meeting with the Director of Food and Civil Supplies along with Sub Divisional Controller (Food), All Tripura Distributors Association, All Tripura Merchant Association, Potato, Onion and Garlic Merchant Association, Wholesale Groceries Merchant Association , Chamber of Trade and Business, officials/representatives of various market committees, officials/representatives of IOCL related to petroleum and LPG supply under Indian Oil Corporation.
