Agartala, 24th August 2024:  Indian Air Force (IAF) Mi-17 and ALH helicopters, in coordination with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), are continuing their relentless efforts to aid flood-hit regions of Tripura. Operating out of Agartala, these helicopters have successfully air-dropped over 4,000 food packets to stranded locals in heavily affected areas such as Rangamati, Jatanbari, Udaipur, Paschim Malbasa, and Shankar Pali in Gomati and South districts.

The ongoing operations have seen the airlifting of 28 tons of relief material, which includes essential supplies like food and medicine, aimed at providing immediate assistance to flood victims.

Tripura has been reeling under severe flood conditions since August 19, with heavy rains inundating large areas. While some parts of the state have begun seeing improvements in water levels, the situation remains critical in parts of the Gomati and South districts, where large numbers of residents are still facing the worst of the floods. The IAF, NDRF, and local administration are working around the clock to ensure relief reaches those in need.

Authorities remain committed to continuing the operation until all affected areas are stabilized and relief is fully provided to those impacted by the disaster.
