Agartala, 29th August 2024: In a remarkable display of compassion and solidarity, the teachers of Shishu Bihar HS+2 School have once again stepped up to support those in need, following a devastating flood that ravaged large parts of the state on August 21 and 22. This flood left countless families in dire straits, with Madhyadeep village in the Bhati Abhoynagar area being particularly hard-hit on Wednesday.
Understanding the urgency of the situation, the school swiftly mobilized relief efforts. With the necessary permissions secured from Sadar SDM and under the supervision of local corporator Pradip Chanda, the dedicated teachers of Shishu Bihar HS+2 School led a relief mission on the ground. Over the course of this operation, they successfully distributed essential food and healthcare supplies to 150 affected families.
Each relief package was meticulously prepared to address the immediate needs of the flood victims. The bags contained a variety of essential items, including biscuit packets, bottled water, cakes, Horlicks, Glucon-D, ORS packets, 500 ml packs of Amul Taza milk, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and mosquito-repellent incense sticks. In addition to these necessities, the teachers also ensured that clothing was provided to both children and the elderly, further aiding the most vulnerable members of the community.
The school’s National Service Scheme (NSS) unit played a vital role in this humanitarian effort, working alongside social workers from the broader society to ensure that relief materials reached those who needed them the most. This collaborative effort highlights the school’s unwavering commitment not only to education but also to its social responsibility, particularly in times of natural disasters.
Shishu Bihar HS+2 School has consistently demonstrated its dedication to serving the community, and this recent initiative is yet another testament to its enduring spirit of giving and service.
