Agartala, 29th August 2024:  The Tripura Journalists Union president Pranab Sarkar has penned a letter to the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha urging for special financial aid to journalists impacted by the recent floods. In his missive, Sarkar commended the administration’s efforts during the severe flood crisis and its aftermath.

He highlighted the significant losses suffered by journalists across the state, many of whom saw their homes submerged or destroyed. Sarkar humbly requested the Chief Minister to conduct a sub-division wise survey at the administrative level to provide targeted assistance to these journalists. Notably, the news community has consistently witnessed the Chief Minister’s supportive stance toward journalists. Failure to extend financial aid could leave flood-affected journalists facing an uncertain future, unable to reunite with their families. Sarkar’s plea underscores the critical need for individualized relief measures for journalists in this challenging time.
