Tripura government to fill 1,265 people in 9 departments, 193 new posts created in 2 departments: Sushanta Chowdhury

Agartala, 27th September 2024:   The Tripura government has decided to recruit 1,265 individuals across various positions in nine departments. Additionally, 193 new posts have been created under two departments. A principal will be appointed at the College of Agriculture, and an advisor or consultant will be hired on a contractual basis for the Tripura Film & Television Institute.

The council of ministers under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha in the afternoon of Thursday last decided that the 1,265 people will be recruited in Forest, Revenue, Janjati Kalyan, Election, Finance, Home, General Administration (Secretariat Administration), Elementary and School Education departments while 193 posts will be created under School Education and Youth Affairs & Sports departments.

Addressing a press conference at Civil Secretariat here on Friday noon, Cabinet spokesperson and Tourism & Transport minister Sushanta Chowdhury said “A total of 194 ‘Forest Guards’ posts will be created and filled up directly by the Forest department, 254 ‘Group-C’ posts consisting of Revenue Inspectors, Tehsildars, Mohoris, Amins, etc. will be filled under Revenue department in various district administrations, one ‘Programmer’ and two ‘Assistant Programmers’ non-gazetted posts will be appointed through TPSC under Election department.”

“Under Janjati Kalyan department, decision has been initiated to increase the pre-matric scholarship for classes VT’to VIII from Rs 400 to Rs 1,000 per student per academic year. For the past 32 years, stucients were gesting Rs 400 only. At present, there are 25,000 students approximately in classes VI to VIII”.

“12 multitasking staff for ‘Peon’ posts will be filled up in Directorate of Treasuries & Sub-Treasuries under Finance department. 218 ‘Sub-Inspectors’ posts of armed and unarmed will be filled up through TPSC under Home department. 19 Vehicle Drivers’ on fixed pay basis and 88 multitasking staff will be filled and under General Administration (Secretariat Administration) department”, he told reporters.

Chowdhury said “Under Elementary Education department, 352 Teachers will be filled up for Pre-Primary education in Vidyajyoti schools through TRET. Moreover, 125 School Librarian” posts will be filled in Vidyajyoti schools under School Education department.

Apart from filling up of vacant posts, Cabinet spokesperson said “The cabinet members decided to create 118 posts of Computer Science post-graduate teachers under the School Education department and 75 posts of Junior Physical Instructors under the Youth Affairs & Sports department.”

Moreover, minister further stated that many states in India are having their own logo. Till date, Tripura did not have any. So the cabinet had decided and the ICA department had created a logo and sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs for approval.
