Agartala, 28th September 2024: The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE) already took initiative to provide hands on training of Pre-primary teachers, FLN teachers and Academic leaders on the Role of Puppetry in Education and accordingly workshops had been conducted in all districts except South Tripura. Now from yesterday South Tripura also started workshop on puppetry with the support of DEE. Today it was the last day of workshop.
The valedictory session of today’s workshop was graced by the presence of Director, Elementary Education N.C. Sharma, OSD, Elementary Education Abhijit Samajpati, DEO South Subir Majumder, Inspector of Schools Santirbazar Pranab Sarkar, Pre-primary Coordinator of South District Dipa Saha en all.
Director in his address emphasises on class appropriate learning of teachers. He mentioned that teaching is a Nobel profession and this is the reason that the entire society have respect and faith on the teachers, so it now the responsibility of teachers to maintain their respect in the society by their work.
Branch officer of pre-primary cell, Abhijit Samajpati in his words mentioned that department is providing various types of teaching learning materials (TLMs) to the schools, arranging trainings on puppetry etc just to develop interest of the students and to attract them towards the school. So teachers must need to use those TLMs and puppets during teaching. He also emphasises on activity-based learning and told to maintain NIPUN corners in the classroom and must use it during teaching learning process.
DEO South Subir Majumder also motives the teachers to work more efficiently for the betterment of Pre-primary and NIPUN.
A total of 72 participants were received hands on training on puppetry in this two days workshop. With this now approx. 300 teachers and academic leaders are now become trained on the use of puppetry in education in the state. After completion of CCRT training by four teachers from state at national level this is the first time that the state has planned for covering large number of teachers with the skill of making and using puppets during classroom activities. Four CCRT trained teachers namely, Tapati SarkarDatta, Rupasree Das, Madhurima Debnath and Rajesh Deb were the resource persons of the workshops on puppetry and they trained the teachers in all districts on puppetry.
The trained teachers from other districts already started developing their own hand-made puppets according to the need of students. With this the students are getting interest over the contents taught.
With conclusion of today’s puppetry workshop in South Tripura District the primary level training of teachers on puppetry has been completed.
