TRTC to provide free bus services during Durga Puja

Agartala: September 15. The Tripura Road Transport Corporation (TRTC) has decided to provide free services to commuters for the celebration of Durga Puja.Addressing a press conference Chairman of the Corporation Abhijit Deb said that like every year, this year too, town buses will run on three routes on Saptami, Ashtami and Nabami of Durga Puja from 10 am to 6 pm.

“No fare will be collected from passengers on these buses. These routes are Ranirbazar to Battala and Battala to Ranirbazar, TRTC to Krishnanagar Complex via Amtali to Sekerkote and Sekerkote to Krishnanagar TRTC Complex and Agartala Railway Station to MBB Airport via Battala, Radhanagar”, he said.In the press conference, he said, keeping in view the needs of the people, a decision has been taken by the board of directors of the corporation to run buses on some new routes.

Chairman of the Corporation said that during Puja days, this town bus service will run from Akhaura Integrated Checkpost to MBB Airport, TRTC Complex in Krishnanagar to Jampuijala Via Old Motorstand, South Anandnagar, GB Hospital to Kamalasagar, Kasba Kalibari, Agartala Railway Station to Ashwini Market, Kailashahar to Kumarghat Railway Stations, Dharmanagar to Khedachhra to Damcherra, Dharmanagar to Karimganj and Dharmanagar to Kailasahar. “After Durga Puja, it is planned to re-run buses on these routes in a phased manner. TRTC’s plans to launch services on these routes would be implemented with the cooperation of people from all sections”, said Abhijit.He also informed that a decision has also been taken from the board to consult the authorities of Agartala Smart City Limited for the development of Kunjban TRTC Complex, Krishnanagar TRTC Complex and Battala TRTC Complex Complex.
