Agartala, 10th November 2024: The Border Security Force deployed in Tripura have detained two Bangladeshi nationals and seized Yaba tablets worth over Rs 40 lakh.
In a press statement BSF said that on 10th November two Bangladeshi nationals was apprehended by BSF troops of BOP Tilabazar under Unakoti district while they were trying to infiltrate in Indian territory by negotiating the The Indo-Bangladesh Border (IBB) fence.
“Apprehended Bangladeshi national are resident of Sylhet district of Bangladesh”, said BSF.
They said that in another operation BSF troops of BOP Srimatapur under Sepahijala district seized 4000 yaba tablets worth Rs 40 lakhs.
“In separate joint operation with Forest Protection Unit , BSF troops of carried out destruction of illegal ganja cultivation near village Vijoy Nagar under PS Sonamura of Sepahijala district. Total 75,000 pre matured plant spread in 15 acres has been destroyed by cutting and burning. BSF is maintaining a high level of alertness on the international border to prevent infiltration and making optimum efforts to maintain a drug free society”, said BSF.
