Congress stages ‘Dharna’ against electricity tariff hike in Udaipur

Agartala, 22nd November 2024:   The Udaipur District Congress on Friday afternoon staged a dharna in front of the Senior Manager’s office of the Udaipur Subdivision Electricity Department. The protest aimed to address grievances regarding alleged cheating of customers through electricity bills and recharges, as well as to oppose the recent increase in electricity tariffs.

Leading the protest were Udaipur District Congress President Titon Pal, Gomati District Youth Leader Indrajit Das, and Block Congress President Nityagopal Saha along with other Congress party leaders. The demonstrators demanded immediate action to rectify the issues and called for fair treatment of consumers. The dharna highlighted the growing discontent among residents over rising electricity costs and the need for transparent billing practices.
