Agartala, 24th November 2024: The 76th NCC Day was celebrated with grandeur at the Albert Ekka War Memorial Park in Agartala this morning. Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, addressing the event organized by the NCC Alumni Association and the 13th Tripura NCC Battalion, emphasized the pivotal role of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in fostering national integration and youth development across the country.
“NCC is not just about military training; it is about instilling leadership skills, discipline, and social responsibility among cadets,” the Governor said. He also highlighted how NCC training prepares cadets not only for careers in the armed forces but also lays the groundwork for success in diverse walks of life.
The event commenced with NCC cadets presenting a ceremonial guard of honour to the Governor. Governor Nallu also paid tribute to the nation’s heroes by laying a wreath at the Albert Ekka War Memorial.
Lauding the contributions of Tripura’s NCC cadets, the Governor stated, “Our cadets have shown exemplary courage and dedication during times of disaster, played a vital role in environmental conservation, and contributed to maintaining law and order.” He underlined the importance of harnessing youth power to build a prosperous and resilient India.
The celebration also saw the launch of the ‘Run for Fun’ race by the Governor, followed by the flag-off of a cyclothon by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy. The Governor, along with NCC alumni and cadets, actively participated in the cyclothon, showcasing solidarity with the youth.
The event began with a welcome address by Colonel Rajasekhar, Commanding Officer of the 13th Tripura NCC Battalion. The celebrations reinforced the NCC’s vision of empowering youth as pillars of the nation’s progress.
