Agartala, 2nd December 2024:   The condition of schools in the Badharghat area has deteriorated significantly due to a severe shortage of teachers, leading to a decline in the quality of education. Schools are operating without head teachers or female teachers, and students are struggling due to the lack of subject teachers in several institutions.

Local residents have reported that informing the local MLA about the teacher shortage and the absence of head teachers at Charipara Class XII School in Badharghat has not yielded any results. These schools continue to function with a minimal number of teachers, causing frustration among the community.

Partha Ranjan Sarkar of CPIM spoke to the media about the dire situation stating, “The quality of education is declining day by day. Due to the shortage of teachers, students are being hindered in their education.” He emphasized the urgency of addressing this issue to prevent further degradation of the education system.

Sarkar revealed that there are approximately 14 schools in the Badharghat area, and he has personally visited several of them to verify the number of teachers and assess the condition of the schools. “The government has pushed other schools towards degradation by developing private schools,” he said, expressing his anger. “The MLA of the area should wake up tomorrow and discuss the development of schools with the state government and make arrangements for the appointment of teachers,” he added

He also highlighted the importance of immediate action, particularly for the appointment of primary teachers. “MLA Mina Rani Sarkar should visit the schools to understand the deterioration of the education system. It is crucial to take measures for the appointment of primary teachers immediately,” Sarkar urged. He appealed to the MLA to discuss the issue with the Chief Minister to find a solution.
