Agartala, 8th December 2024: The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has levied a fine of ₹4 lakh on an individual for installing unauthorized hoardings and posters featuring the cryptic phrases *“What is your Name” and “Tumahra Naam Kya Hai” across various locations in the city. These mysterious advertisements, which appeared without attribution or approval, sparked curiosity and confusion among residents.
Addressing the issue, AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder said, “For some time, these unexplained posters have been causing a stir among citizens. Once the matter gained widespread attention, we launched an investigation to trace their origin and check if proper permissions had been obtained.”
The inquiry, aided by CCTV footage, revealed that a resident of Abhoynagar had been installing the hoardings on behalf of a company. However, no prior approval had been sought for the displays, leading the municipal authorities to take swift action.
“The individual was issued a notice and fined ₹4 lakh for violating municipal regulations,” the mayor confirmed. “Teams were also deployed to promptly remove the unauthorized posters and hoardings from public spaces.”
The AMC’s decisive action aims to deter similar unauthorized activities in the future.
