Stolen timber recovered at Bamutia, smugglers evade arrest

Agartala, 30th December 2024:    Acting on a tip-off, Bamutia Outpost police personnel conducted a successful raid in the Berimura Surjya Chowmuhani area recovering a large cache of stolen wood. The operation was led by Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anthony Jamatia and a sizable police force disrupted ongoing smuggling activities in the region. 

Despite the swift action, the smugglers managed to flee the scene. Local sources suggest that these individuals have been engaged in wood smuggling in the area for a long time. 

Speaking to the media, OC Anthony Jamatia highlighted the outpost’s commitment to curbing illegal activities and reassured the public of continued vigilance to prevent such crimes.
