Agartala, 30th December 2024: A housewife has gone missing from her in-laws’ house, creating a sensation in Belonia. The family members have filed a missing person case with the Belonia Women’s Police Station.
Husband Tapas Das reported that his wife Pratima Datta Das left their home without informing anyone last Friday while he was at work. “When I returned home from work, I found that my wife was not at home. We searched at her father’s house and the houses of her relatives, but her whereabouts remain unknown,” he said.
Pratima and Tapas were married according to social norms three years back. Tapas mentioned that Pratima left the house with Rs 17,000 in cash and 2 ‘bhori’ of gold ornaments. “A missing person case was filed with the Belonia Women’s Police Station last Friday night,” he added.
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident but have yet to trace Pratima’s whereabouts, even after four days. “We urge anyone with information to come forward and assist in locating Pratima,” said a police official.
