Tinku Roy inaugurates state-level women’s welfare conclave

Agartala, 11th January 2025:  To ensure that women in the state progress through empowerment, the Women’s Commission and various NGOs have been making significant contributions. This was highlighted by Minister Tinku Roy at the state-level women’s welfare conclave held at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala on Saturday.

The Department of Social Welfare and Social Education organized the conclave to bring about impactful changes in the state through collaboration with NGOs. Minister Tinku Roy, the chief guest, emphasized the importance of such initiatives.

In his address, Minister Tinku Roy stated, “Our aim is to ensure that women in our state feel secure, become self-reliant, and have their rights protected. The Women’s Commission and various social organizations play a crucial role in this process. Today’s conclave aims to discuss their contributions and chart out the path forward.”

The event was attended by notable figures including Jharna Debbarma, Chairperson of the State Women’s Commission, and Jayanti Debbarma, Chairperson of the Tripura Commission for Protection of Child Rights. They discussed the various welfare activities being undertaken for the benefit of women and children.

“We are committed to creating a safe and empowering environment for women. Through our combined efforts, we can achieve significant progress in women’s welfare and empowerment,” said Jharna Debbarma.

The conclave also featured discussions on the role of NGOs in bringing about societal changes and the various programs being implemented to support women’s welfare. The collaborative efforts of the Women’s Commission and social organizations were lauded for their impact on the community.
