Agartala, 27th January 2025:   Despite the lack of a designated venue, the 24th state conference of the CPI(M) will go ahead as planned. This assertion was made by former Chief Minister and Politburo member Manik Sarkar while addressing journalists today.

Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar visited the residence of senior Left leader Sunil Debnath in the Kanchanmala area of Golaghati assembly. During his visit, he spoke with Debnath and his family members.

“Senior Left leader Sunil Debnath has done a lot of good for many people. He has been ill for a long time and is now unable to leave his house due to his illness. He is a very popular and honest person. Even after joining the CPI(M), he stood by everyone in times of trouble, regardless of party affiliation,” Sarkar stated.

Sarkar also commented on the 2018 assembly elections, saying, “The BJP lured people to vote for them by making false promises. Within one and a half years of coming to power, people understood everything. But the CPI(M) had warned the people from the beginning to recognize their enemies and friends.”

He further added, “In the 2023 assembly elections, Tipra Matha helped the BJP cross the border. People have understood all their false promises. That is why the government is not providing any ground for the CPI(M) to hold a state rally. But it will not be able to stop the people in any way. The CPI(M) state rally will be held on January 29.”

Sarkar concluded by warning the people not to fall into the trap of temptation in the next elections.
