Agartala, 29th January 2025:  The Madhupur police station has once again demonstrated its effectiveness in combating cannabis cultivation. Acting on a secret tip-off, the Bishalgarh police and TSR forces led by Madhupur OC Debajit Chatterjee conducted a raid in Harihardula, Radhanagar and Konaban areas, destroying over 11,000 cannabis plants.

This operation timed to prevent the farmers from harvesting their crops followed a series of successful raids over the past two months which saw lakhs of cannabis plants destroyed in Kamalasagar assembly constituency. “We still have many reports of marijuana plantations in Kamalasagar assembly constituency and we will continue our efforts to eradicate them,” said OC Chatterjee.

On the same day, the Bishalgarh police station, led by OC Sanjit Sen destroyed 32,000 cannabis plants in Chelikhala Palpara. This large-scale operation, involving 70 police personnel, CRPF, TSR and SPO Jawans was based on secret information about cannabis gardens on government land.

These coordinated efforts highlight the commitment of the Madhupur and Bishalgarh police stations to eradicate illegal marijuana cultivation and uphold the law.
