Agartala, 4th February 2025 : Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sepahijala in collaboration with State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute(SAMETI), Tripura and National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad successfully Concluded a six-day , Skill Training of Rural training Programme on Nursery Management .
The programme was organized under the guidance of Prof. Arun Bhai Patel ,Dean college of Fisheries, Lebucherra and Dr. Shatabhisa Sarkar, Senior Scientist and Head of the KVK in Sepahijala district. The programme took place at KVK, premise from 27th January to 1st February, 2025. The training was financially supported by MANAGE, Hyderabad, benefited 28 participants including unemployed rural youth and female school dropouts from different villages of Sepahijala District.
The programme aimed to equip participants with knowledge and practical skills necessary to effectively manage a plant nursery. During the programme, Panchal Bhattacharjee, Agriculture officer Jumedhepa Sector, SAoffice, Nalchar and Neha Kumari Mandal, Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture), KVK South Tripura, were invited as resource persons. The course director and resource person covered different topics on Nursery Management.Viz.Nursery raising technique of fruit crops, vegetables and flowers, disease and pest management at nursery, preparation of nursery bed, site selection for establishing nursery.
The programme was concluded with valedictory ceremony where certificates are distributed to the participants .The ceremony was attended by Senior Scientist and Head, and official staffs of KVK. During the valedictory event, participants received 2880nos. tomato seedlings and 28 lemon cuttings.
