Agartala, 4th February 2025 : The All Tripura Government Doctors’ Association (ATGDA) central working committee met with the Chief Minister of Tripura, Prof (Dr.) Manik Saha, at his official residence in Agartala on the evening of Monday last. The meeting focused on six critical agendas that were thoroughly discussed with the Chief Minister.
The main points of discussion included the Tripura State Health Services Amendment, the 65-year age limit for retirement for THS doctors, reappointment issues of THS doctors, absorption of THS doctors in TMES, TMES Amendment, and the absorption of 19 Ad-hoc MBBS doctors through TPSC-related approval. The committee also highlighted that many doctors are currently on short-term deputation, which needs to be converted to transfer as far as practicable for better service to the people.
CM Manik Saha has asked for the proper and time-bound initiation of the Office of DHS regarding various issues, including the Tripura State Health Services Amendment and Ad-hoc services through the Health Secretary’s office. He expressed his earnest concern regarding ATGDA’s pertinent agendas.
Furthermore, the committee secured the kind consent of the CM to attend the Biennual State Conference of ATGDA, scheduled for March 8th, 2025.
Due to health-related issues, the ATGDA President was unable to attend the meeting. Dr. Kanak Choudhury, the general secretary of ATGDA’s central working committee, shared this information in a social media post.
