Agartala, 8th February 2025: Tripura Karmachari Sammanay Samiti (TKSS) HB Road has announced a procession on February 18 to protest against the central budget and demand the reinstatement of the old pension policy. This announcement was made by the organization’s general secretary Mahua Roy during a press conference held today.
Additionally, Roy stated that a program will be organized on February 10 in celebration of International Women’s Day. She mentioned that a meeting had been requested with the 16th Finance Commission, which recently visited the state, to discuss various demands. However, the organization was not granted an audience with the commission. In today’s press conference, Roy presented a 10-point demand certificate submitted to the state’s Chief Secretary, aimed at addressing issues before the Finance Commission.
The key demands outlined include a 50-50 percent tax-sharing arrangement between the state and central governments, increased funding for the appointment of teachers and employees in ADC areas, and the regularization of irregular employees. Moreover, the demands call for a regular pay scale for teachers engaged in the Sarba Shiksha Abhiyan and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, elimination of employee deprivation through regular channels, and filling of vacancies, among other points.
